Performance Measurement in the BIST Retail and Trade Sector with the LOPCOW-RSMVC Model

Abstract

This study aims to measure the financial performance of the companies traded in BIST retail and trade index for the period 2017-2021 using MCDM methods. In the study, seven criteria obtained from the company's balance sheets were included, and the LOPCOW technique and the performance scores of the alternatives by the RSMVC method determined the weights of the criteria. In the final stage, the sensitivity analysis of the model used was carried out in two stages, while it was determined that different weights and different MCDM methods affected the results, a positive high correlation was detected between the rankings. The study is believed to contribute to the literature as the LOPCOW-RSMVC model is used for the first time in financial performance measurement in the BIST retail and trade sector.
