Nihali and His Divanche, from the 18th Century Poets

Abstract

Political life in Ottoman Empire has entered the period of decline in 18th century. In many areas of social life with this decline of political life causes recession and turmoil. Despite these negative political and social life, literature has maintained its vitality. During this period, great poets such as Nedim and Sheikh Galip have mainly grown. Nihali is one of these poets. In this study, two copies of his Divanche found in the libraries will be transferred to contemporary alphabet transcription giving information about the life of Nihali.
