COVİD-19 salgınının lokanta ve oteller sektörü üzerine etkileri: BIST'te bir uygulama

Abstract

Çin'in Wuhan kentinde görülen, daha sonra Dünya Sağlık Örgütü tarafından 11 Mart 2020 yılında pandemi olarak duyurulan Covid-19 salgınının yayılmasının önüne geçilebilmek için alınan önlemlerden dolayı birçok ülke ekonomisi ve sektörler olumsuz yönde etkilenmiştir. Olumsuz etkilenen sektörlerden biri de hiç şüphesiz Lokantalar ve Oteller sektörüdür. Bu tez çalışmasında da, Borsa İstanbul'da (BIST) işlem gören Lokantalar ve Oteller sektöründeki 9 firmanın 'Covid-19 Salgınından dolayı finansal yapılarının ve Borsa performanslarının etkilenip etkilenmediğinin' sorusuna cevap bulunmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda firmaların 2018-2023 yılları aralığındaki finansal tablolarından elde edilen verilerle yatay ve oran analizi yöntemleri kullanılarak analiz yapılmıştır. Oran analizinde elde edilen veriler standart kabul edilen oranlarla karşılaştırılıp yorumlanmıştır.Many countries' economies and sectors have been negatively affected due to the measures taken to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic, which was seen in Wuhan, China, and was later declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020. One of the sectors negatively affected is undoubtedly the Restaurants and Hotels sector. In this thesis study, we tried to find an answer to the question of 'Whether their financial structures and Stock Exchange performances were affected due to the Covid-19 Pandemic' of 9 companies in the Restaurants and Hotels sector traded in Borsa Istanbul (BIST). For this purpose, analysis was made using horizontal and ratio analysis methods with the data obtained from the financial statements of the companies between 2018-2023. The data obtained in the ratio analysis were compared and interpreted with the ratios accepted as standard.
