Refik Halit Karay'ın romanlarında mekan-insan ilişkisi

Abstract

Refik Halit Karay, eserlerinde değişik karakter özelliklerine sahip birçok "tip" oluşturur. Romanlarını kadın-erkek ilişkisi üzerine kurgulayan yazar geniş ruh çözümlemelerine de yer verir. Onun eserlerinde "mekân" karakterlerin aynasıdır. Mekân ve insan daima birbirini tamamlayan iki unsurdur. Avcılık-toplayıcılık yapan insandan, yerleşik düzene geçerek yaşamını sürdüren insana kadar her süreçte insan mekânı, mekân da insanı şekillendirmiştir. Birçok alanda inceleme konusu olan mekân, edebi eserlerde de çok büyük bir öneme sahiptir. İncelenen eserlerde olaylara yön veren karakterlerin duygu durumlarını, eserde gerçekleşen olaylarla özdeşleştirebilmek için etkileşimde oldukları mekânları doğru bir şekilde yorumlamak gerekmektedir. Örneğin; bir odadan, bir köşeden, bir çatı katından bahsedildiği zaman fiziksel görünümün yanı sıra bu mekânların insan üzerindeki psikolojik, sosyolojik etkilerini de beraber düşünmek gerekir. Bu olgulardan yola çıkılarak Refik Halit Karay'ın romanlarındaki mekân-insan ilişkisi ve bu ilişki sonucunda ortaya çıkan durumlar araştırılıp açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma sırasında, çalışmaya konu olan Refik Halit Karay'ın romanları detaylı bir şekilde incelenerek, romanlarda kullandığı mekânlar tespit edilip karakter(ler) üzerindeki etkileri psikoloji, sosyoloji, felsefe ve mitoloji gibi diğer bilim dallarından da faydalanılarak açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.

In his works, Refik Halit Karay creates a variety of "types of characters" with unique characteristics. In addition to focusing his novels on the relationship between men and women, the author incorporates extensive soul analysis into his writings. The "place" is the characters' reflection. People and place are two elements that always complement one another. Human-place has shaped human-place, and the place has shaped man in every way, from hunter-gatherers to sedentary individuals. The place, which is the subject of study in a variety of disciplines, is of great importance in literary works. To associate the emotional states of the characters who direct the events in the examined works with the events themselves, it is necessary to correctly interpret the locations where they interact. For instance, when discussing a room, a corner, or an attic, it is necessary to consider the psychological and sociological effects these places have on people, in addition to their physical appearance. On the basis of these facts, the place-human relationship in Refik Halit Karay's novels and the situations that arise as a result of this relationship were investigated and attempts were made to explain them. During this study, the novels of Refik Halit Karay, which are the subject of the study, were examined in depth, the locations he used in the novels were identified, and the effects on the characters were attempted to be explained using other disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, philosophy, and mythology.
